A feasibility study in its simplest form is a tool used to figure out whether or not a potential idea / product / business is worth going after.
The precise function of the feasibility plan: to do a quick analysis of an idea before committing to a full, polished business plan. A feasibility plan answers the question “Could this idea work?”
What we attempt to achieve at CHINALINKS is figure out the process and its cost. This happens by determining factors such as the price of the goods (within the scope given by the client), their shipping costs (sea freight? air freight? truckload?), lead times (how long does the cycle take?), and delivery time.
Obviously we would need certain information from the clients themselves - to better approach the project and its scope. Is this a large scale project? Will there be manufacturing and customization involved? How easy is shipping to the destination country? Several questions that need answering before finalizing a decision.
Live Example:
One of our clients wanted to establish a hydroponics farm in Cote d'Ivoire. After some months of calculations and putting the costs together, the potential returns for the client were not profitable as he had hoped for.
The client decided against it, and invested in something else entirely.
We helped the client save himself from potential millions in losses.
